worth a thousand words

I had previously written about how much I wanted a new camera. Well from the posts that followed that one it is obvious I got one. I chose a point and shoot digital Nikon. It takes pretty decent pictures so I can't complain. In the week before I got the new camera I decided to borrow this SLR camera from my dad for my son J to learn with. I had to go over a few key elements of the old school camera. Including the F-stops, light meter and how to load the film, even choosing the film speed had to be decided! I learned all this back in highscool journalism class. As it turns out there are a few things that one can learn in highschool!

We took a walk to discover some local history. We live in the very oldest part of our quite old city. Near by us is the former guard house to the prison that once stood on the grounds that are now low rise condos.

Our walk also took us past the old cemetery. It was a beautiful sunny day. I will let the pictures tell the story.
